Living Art,
Named by You

Miyako Medaka delivers a rare fusion of exclusivity, investment potential,
and Japanese aesthetics—available only to a selected circle of owners.

Our Philosophy

Miyako – A Japanese Sense of Beauty in a Single Fish

“Miyako” is named after the founder’s hometown, Miyako District in Fukuoka Prefecture, and also evokes the elegance of traditional Japan.
By combining Japan’s advanced breeding techniques with its unique aesthetics, we have elevated the medaka—long loved in Japan—into a world-class luxury ornamental fish.
The delicate shimmer that changes with the light, the graceful movement in water, and the refined color combinations embody the Japanese spirit of wabi-sabi.
What we provide is not merely a pet fish. It is a piece of living art that offers:
the joy of owning, the pleasure of nurturing, and the potential to build an asset bearing your name.

Founder list

Introducing the Miyako Medaka growers.
Their passion lies in pursuing the infinite possibilities of beauty that exist in these tiny creatures called medaka.

Founder – Masaya Ishida

Born in 1982 in Miyako District, Fukuoka, he was familiar with ornamental fish such as tropical fish and goldfish from childhood. He later rediscovered the profound charm of improved Japanese medaka and, in 2018, established “Miyako Medaka,” named after his hometown.

By combining Japan’s traditional sense of beauty with a deep understanding of life science, Ishida elevates medaka beyond ornamental fish into living works of art. His vision is to spread Japanese improved medaka to the world, just as koi and goldfish have become global icons.
